Introducing
Well & Truly
Well & Truly would love to welcome you to enjoy a little bit of peace, good company & time to nurture yourself. Self-care is not a luxury, it plays a very important role in good health. Modern lives have become so fast & full, we can easily feel overwhelmed & swept along. By taking moments to stop, listen & breathe, we are giving our nervous system the chance to switch out of fight-or-flight response & into the relaxation response, & in doing so to gain far-reaching health benefits.
Connecting with nature & engaging the senses is very healing. Just being in the tranquil beauty of this setting brings a sense of peace & calm.
Welcome
Meet Ellie
Meditation has orbited its way through most of my life. I guess it all began as a teenager, during my time in a drama group, where we practiced focus and relaxation exercises. My journey took a significant boost in my early twenties when I visited an Ashram in India, the country itself had a profound affect on me, as did the teachings and meditation techniques I learnt.
While training to become a teacher, I wanted to explore the effects of meditation and creative visualisation on learning for my action research project, but my enthusiasm wasn't shared by my tutor - he practically laughed me out of his office! But this was 30 years ago…a lot has changed since then. Despite this setback, I maintained home practice and attended various workshops and classes.
Life as a school teacher, and later as a parent, took over daily routines. Meditation became something I turned to in times of crisis rather than a daily practice.
New Beginnings
Ten years ago, I moved onto the farm. I gave up my teaching job, rolled up my sleeves and got stuck into farm life. Originating from less rural parts, I never imagined I’d drive a fork lift…Alongside learning about farming life I learnt counselling skills, trained in Horticulture and took courses in flower arranging. It was a dream come true to be so connected to nature which has always been a sanctuary for me. My horizons were expanding exponentially. I briefly ventured into the world of selling home grown flowers, and running workshops - but it was too much work for one person. Instead, I took jobs in the voluntary sector that gave stretch and challenge, but also colossal stress.
The experience of menopause combined with chronic work stress led me back to meditation, which became a lifeline. Meditation helped me to manage my anxiety, and reclaim balance - the improvement to my health was so profound it propelled me to pursue accredited meditation teacher training. Teaching has always been a great love of mine, despite my frustrations with the education system.
My Well & Truly Vision
So, committed to the path and power of Meditation, and feeling a passion to share the benefits to help other people, it is with great excitement and a dash of trepidation I have founded Well & Truly. The seed was sown when running my flower arranging workshops - I literally saw people’s shoulders relax and the exhale as they arrived and took in the tranquility of the surroundings. Well & Truly’s unique mix of meditation, mindfulness and nature crafts brings together my so-far-lifetime’s experience of teaching, life coaching and love of nature and crafting. I am so fortunate to combine all my passions through "Well & Truly." I am dedicated to sharing the transformative power of meditation, the healing effects of nature and helping others to find peace and balance in their lives.
I hope you will come and join me on the journey, I look forward to meeting you.
Kind wishes
Ellie
