Beltane comes from the Gaelic word meaning “bright fire”. Nature has an amazing ability to reproduce itself, and in such a stunning & beautiful way. It’s important to honour this power that nature holds – a power that we, as humans, also hold. Beltane is a time to celebrate all the pleasures in being alive, the abundance of our land and our imaginations. Once upon a time in Beltane the veil between the human world, and the world of faeries & nature spirits was said to have grown thin. Indulge flights of fantasy for a day at this very beautiful time of year.

Itinerary for the Day:

  • Welcome drinks
  • Into the woods for a fireside guided meditation, reflection and intention setting
  • Mindfully make a nesting ball for garden birds
  • Delicious two-course lunch
  • Craft a beautiful table arrangement reflecting the abundance and whimsy of Spring
  • Deep relaxation and sound bath to end the day positively and peacefully

Do I need to bring anything?

All mats, blankets, equipment & materials are provided, but if you have a favourite blanket/cushion/mat do feel free to bring them along. Your comfort is very important to Well & Truly.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, but unfortunately due to the small number of spaces on the course Well & Truly is unable to give a refund for cancellation if less than 2 weeks ahead of the scheduled date. If you can find a friend or family member to take your place that is fine. You can receive a full refund if more than than 2 weeks is given to enable Well & Truly the chance to make the place available to someone else.

What shall I wear?

For meditations, loose comfortable clothing for sitting, lying & gentle movement. We remove our shoes to go into the meditation space so do bring cosy socks if you like to keep your toes toasty.

For retreat days, footwear that is suitable for walking on uneven ground & the weather conditions. Loose comfortable clothing & in the Autumn, Winter & early Spring wear plenty of layers. We will go inside to warm up at points in the day.

Is the farm easy to find?

Yes, we are about a quarter of a mile from the Bainton Roundabout. You will be sent an email a week before attending with full directions & what to look out for to find the farm. Directions will include What3Words as well as Sat-Nav instructions if preferred. There is plenty of private parking on arrival.

I find it hard to sit on the floor. Will I be comfortable enough to meditate?

No problem, you can sit or lie down for all practices. You can use a cushion to sit against a wall & there are plenty of supports & props to aid comfort.

I don't like shutting my eyes, will this be OK?

That's fine, you don't have to shut your eyes to meditate. There are images on the walls to use for focus if you would prefer. If outside, you can pick a point of focus.
